What They Said About The Skylark

What they said about the spring Skylark, 13 April 2014

Dan H: “Cracking event. Well organised. Look forward (I think!!!!!) to doing it again next year. I was one of the few that managed to get up Holme Moss. Never ridden on my drops at 2.5mph before. Character building stuff that. All the best Skylark team.”

Jeremy S: “First ever sportive, 5 mph into wind 50 mph down wind, terrific thrill, and It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, many thanks to all those who put in the time to make it happen.”

Andy S: “Wind !! Just before Marsden I was pedalling down a -5 gradient and was still struggling to get 12.5 mph, all I could do was swear to myself then laugh at the absurdity of it.
However, nearly 46mph going down the other side of Cragg Vale was an eye opener to say the least. Thanks to all those who organised and volunteered.”

Jo S: “it was a brilliant day – thanks so much.”

James : “Thanks to skylark organisers. Especially the feed station team providing loads of jelly babies 😀 and flapjack. It was a pleasure and great value. Even the wind wasn’t too bad with the sun out!”

Rob G “Good friendly event, in a new cycling area for me. Thanks to all involved.”

Graham W: “A fantastic well organised and friendly event. I was particularly impressed by the challenging route. How did you find so many hills in 100km (even without Holme Moss). I don’t think I need to mention the Wind, on what was otherwise a beautiful sunny day for a ride through the wonderful Yorkshire countryside . Well done to all the team.”

Martine: “Just wanted to say thanks for a great day out yesterday – organisation was superb and a great route. It was nice to be on a small friendly sportive.”

Alasdair: “Just a few lines to let you know how much I enjoyed yesterday’s ride. The scenery was fantastic … All your volunteers were very friendly and enthusiastic and the feed stations were most welcome.”

Cary: “Fantastic routes, well organised and super friendly staff at the feed stations.”

Robert: “Thanks to everyone who helped organise and marshal this event. Did the 60k, but wish I’d had a crack at 100km. The pie and peas were a nice touch.”
